WHAT IS MISSIONS?

Ministry outside the Cayman Islands that is:

  • Reaching across barriers of distance, culture, language, and restrictive social/political/economic/religious regimes to share the Gospel and make disciples.
  • Gospel-sowing/disciple-making ministry OR support ministries to Gospel sowing and disciple-making (this could include holistic disaster relief, development, and administrative functions)
  • Supporting missionaries directly OR partnering with like-minded organizations, strategic ministry projects or outreach efforts to Unreached People Groups (UPGs)

The First Baptist Church Missions Ministry Team (MMT)

VISION:

To see the world engaged with the Gospel of Christ, disciples equipped for service and God worshiped among the nations.

PURPOSE:

To know Christ and make Him known in areas beyond the immediate reach of our local body.  The local body is responsible for making Him known within the Cayman Islands.

MISSION:

The mission of the FBC MMT is two-fold:

1.  To identify, equip and mobilize godly people, connect them with appropriate organizations for them to serve with, support them faithfully in prayer, and with finances and logistics…

2.  To identify and faithfully support like-minded Christian Missions Organizations and/ specific Gospel Projects working in strategic geographical areas, priority ministries or least-reached people groups…

…so they can effectively proclaim the Gospel and make disciples until the task is finished and Christ returns.
