WEEKLY UPDATES

First Sunday Prayer Service

Join us this Sunday (5 May) at 6 PM in the Fellowship Hall for our monthly prayer service.

Too often we treat prayer as the preparation for the work of the church. Do you not see? Prayer IS the work of the church.” -- Oswald Chambers

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”  -- I Thessalonians 5:16-18

Children's Heart Project 2024

FBC continues to host little Luciana and Yandi. They are staying at the Samaritan's Purse Beth-Shalom Mission House, and have been given medical clearance to return to Bolivia as planned this coming Monday (6 May).  We want to give a big “thank you!” to those of you who have stepped up and visited them, taken them meals or for an outing, and have invited them to birthday parties and other gatherings. These practical ways of showing Christ's love in action have made such a difference to their experience in Cayman, and they feel very blessed by it all.

Please pray for the complete healing of these two little ones and for the Lord to draw their mothers to Himself during their remaining time on-island. 🙏🏽

Lost & Found Table

On Sundays 12, 19 & 26 May there will be a table in the breezeway with lost and found items that have accumulated over the last few months. Any items not claimed after three weeks will either be donated to the NCVO/Red Cross or disposed of. If you have lost something valuable, please ask!

Come and check it out; it may be that there is an item there that you haven’t realized you’ve lost!

If you lose anything on the First Baptist premises, please contact the church office to see if it has been turned in. Our next Lost & Found table will be set out in September.

Rethinking Authentic Christianity

Authentic Christianity has never been about how put together we seem to be. It’s always been about how God works powerfully through our shortcomings to accomplish his purposes for us.

So, what does a successful life look like in the kingdom of God? In this eight-session series, pastor Rich Villodas describes how opening ourselves up in genuine relationships with others invites the power of Jesus to shine through our weaknesses. We don’t have to clean up our weaknesses before God and others—we invite them in.
