Persons interested in joining the FBC family are invited to attend this new members’ orientation. Attending the class is not an obligation to join. We will discuss: ‘Why join a church?’; ‘What is the church?’; ‘What do we believe?’; ‘What is our church’s history?’; and ‘First Baptist Church basics’

Pot Luck Fellowship
Sunday July 6th, 2008 after the Morning Service. We will fellowship with the team from Hillcrest Baptist church from Austin TX, who will be here to team up with us for VBS and Upward Basketball. Drop your dishes to the back of the gym when you come in on Sunday morning. Contact Cheryl Reid-Whittaker (929-8154) to assist the fellowship committee to oversee the layout of the buffet, organizing paper products and recruiting for tidying up after the fellowship. Mark your calendar for this Sunday. Potlucks also planned for August 31, October 26, November 30.  

Spiritual Fun For the Children
Here come the Summer Programs!
Planning is already underway! Don’t miss this opportunity to join FBC in the Upward Basketball ministry or as we partner with a team from Hillcrest Baptist Church in Austin, TX, to teach our children to “give good fruit”!   The team will live at the church in the dorms.  We will also be asking our members to kindly donate drinks and snacks for the hospitality room we will provide for their stay.

Upward Basketball Camp is offered to children between the ages of 5 and 13.   Registration forms may be collected from the table outside the FBC office.  As spaces are limited, please complete and return the forms as soon as possible to secure a place for your camper.
Camp 1:  Monday, 30 June through Thursday, 3 July from 6:00-8:30pm Fee: $75.00
Camp 2:  Monday, 7 July through Friday, 11 July from 2:30-5:00pm.  Campers attending Camp 2 who meet the age requirement for VBS, may stay for a light dinner and supervised activities between 5:00 and 6:00 and go straight into VBS.  Fee:  $125.00    

Vacation Bible School
We’re setting the stage for Gospel Light’s ”Son Harvest County Fair” and its top attraction…the life changing impact of getting to know Jesus!   VBS 2008 will take place at FBC, 7 July through 11 July from 6pm-8:30pm, for children between the ages of 5-11.  Through VBS activities, kids will learn how to grow love, sprout joy, plant peace, produce patience and pick kindness.   Registration forms for the “County Fair” may be collected from the table outside the FBC office.  Please register now so that we may more effectively organize VBS crafts, snacks and activities.
