“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now….” (Phil. 1:3-5)
No church can complete the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20) working alone. Nor is “lone ranger” missions what Jesus designed for the church. We’re not in competition with other churches for members; we’re in competition with Satan for souls. That’s why we cooperate in gospel missions with other organizations and churches.
We believe in cooperating with other Baptist churches throughout the Caribbean for the purposes of evangelism, mutual encouragement, and disaster relief. For many years we have done that in partnership with CBF churches.
From the church’s inception, we’ve had a friendly cooperation with other churches in the Southern Baptist Convention. Our first pastor was a retired missionary with the SBC. We received early financial support through The Lottie Moon Fund. And we’ve been privileged to have SBC journeymen serve our church in various ways. Today, we contribute to the SBC’s cooperative program in order to combine resources with other local churches to support world missions, educate future pastors and missionaries, and supply Bible study materials to local churches.
We also cooperate with churches from various other denominations in an effort to reinvigorate gospel preaching and strengthen the broader evangelical church world. Pastor Thabiti serves as a council member of TGC and the church contributes financially to the work of the Coalition.
